Department: Uhh...All around ranch help? I don't have one specific job. I help with a multitude of things each day.
Project Title: Market and brander
General Description: Help to market for the ranch and give their business a brand.
Learning Objectives: How to market and brand for a business
Organization/Company Objectives & Benefits: From this project the ranch gets a web page that markets their ranch, and explains in detail what is so intriguing about being there, and how/why it's different then every other ranch.
Schedule: 8:30Am - 2:20 Pm M-F
Academic Skills: Creative writing to draw people in and make then interested in visiting Horse of the Sun.
Technical Skills: Working with computers, marketing, learning how to help brand a business.
Collaboration—Skills and Opportunities: I get to interview a lot of people who work and board their horses on the ranch and figure out what THEY like about the ranch. So I get to work with a bunch of people and find out a lot about the ranch.
Exhibition Plans: I'm going to talk to my mentor about this sometime this week.
Schedule & Timelines: I work on this project in the evenings and interview people at the ranch during the mornings.
Well, to start off, I got sick on Saturday, and was still sick until Tuesday, so I missed Monday and Tuesday. Wednesday they called me and told me they were going into town and getting some things, so they wouldn't be around most of the day, so I should just stay home another day.
Thursday when I went back again I got to work with their dressage trainer and follow him around, finding out what he does. It was also shot day for the horses...Fun. I do not envy the giant needles they get shoved into their necks. Literally. Shoved.
But the last two days of the week were really great. I love the horses there, and the people are great. It's like a giant family, even though a lot of the people only board there.
One thing that does annoy me is that there are a few boarders who just send in the fee for boarding every month and that's it. They don't come visit their horses at all. So their horses don't get out unless other boarders let them out, and they don't get exercised much.

Haha, "Uhh..all around the ranch help...?" I feel like I know the more technical answer... but I like yours better, so...
